“Facing suffering is the work of our times. That work is not passive witnessing. It is a highly visceral act of entering into the suffering around us. We don’t know what will get transformed in the process, if anything, but it is the only way forward for those who train in Zen. We need each other in order to strengthen our capacity to do this. Together."
