Heather Meikyo Scobie Roshisays she started training in Zen to get out of the world in her head. Her Zen training eventually revealed something surprising: mushin (no-mind) isn't an advanced mystical state reserved for masters. It's a trainable practice, accessible much earlier than commonly acknowledged, that can transform even the most mundane activities — sorting silverware, walking across a room — into what one student described as "a different, sparkly universe." In this Fresh Talk, she'll share what she's learned about mushin through her own training and through working with students, and how we can train mushin right now, in this very moment.
